I am planning to visit London in the fall— my first visit— and this is my dream itinerary!Books x stationery x coffee= heaven. Thank you for sharing!!!
Wow - you covered a lot of ground. I live in London and do bits and pieces of your itinerary depending on what I am doing and where I am going. they are usually squeezed in between chores. love the idea of taking a day to do it all....but MacDonald's instead of that wonderful shop. I often go past there and never really clocked it. Still, your description of the stationary shops cheered me up and the Virginia Woolf is on my 'to read' list now. thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much for your kind message Jennifer. I agree, the McDonalds has definitely not the same charm, I really wished I could visit the original shop. It felt quite funny to stumble upon that Virginia Woolf's book that talks about walking in London, I'd never seen it before. I'm glad I did the walk because it took me to parts of London I hadn't paid attention to before. If you happen to visit the stationary shop, you'll need a lot of willpower not to buy everything :)
Awe this really made my partner and I wanting to go back to London that much more! We were there in December, we miss it! We both felt like we were with you on your walk reading this because we stayed on Tothill Street Westminster.
Loved this - I have a lot of meetings near Euston and I like to go for a wander when I can. Last Tuesday I took the afternoon off for a springtime walk from Euston to Westminster (for some research at the ICE) and took my time enjoying Charing Cross Road and Foyles on my way!
Aw I'm glad you say that. My intention that day was to find new places that I hadn't paid attention to before, and I'm happy if others can also find new places along the itinerary.
This has made me miss London! I don't live there any more (I used to live east, too) but will definitely be visiting some of these places next time I'm up.
Great post and definitely picked up some inspo for book shops unfamiliar to me! It’s so hard to resist buying more but I’m trying to do the same until I make some headway on my reading pile!

Remind me what is the title of Woolf's essay about walking London at dusk in search of a pencil?
Street Haunting: A London Adventure
This is a gorgeous read; I’ve sent it to a friend I’d love to follow in your footsteps with!
Thank you Lydia :)
Love this idea!💕💕
what a lovely vicarious tour - thank you!

Thank you for this. I only read 84 Charing Cross Road for the first time a few days ago and I’m saving your itinerary for my next trip to London.

Such a great idea to design a walk like that. I’d never get out of the bookstores though.
Absolutely love this! Bookmarking.
Daunt and Foyle's are two of my faves so appreciate you putting us on to new literary frontiers!

Wonderful post! You have made me want to spend a day in London visiting all the amazing bookshops .

This was absolutely delightful! A dreamy kind of day. Also — how darling is that lettuce paper?!
Thank you Kristine! And I know what you mean, that lettuce was so extra!
As someone who also lives in London, I loved reading this Stefania!
Thank you Alicia, I'm glad you enjoyed reading.
Ditto! ☺️
I love this! I have my own literary walks in London.
